As one of the UK's leading Museums, the Victoria and Albert Museum has a vast repository of educational material, much is much in demand by teachers and students. The volume of the material was such that for visitors, it was often difficult and time consuming to locate what they were looking for. We were asked by the V&A to create an easy to use online portal allowing users to access V&A educational resources quickly and easily.

Our Solution

Cross platform and backwards compatibility with older computers was key on this project allowing for all users, whatever their level of technology an equally speedy and satisfying experience. Working with the V&A brand guidelines we created a slick, neat site that allows multiple methods of search which means that a users can access information in a way that suits them. For the visitor that needs to access information quickly, the system allows this, and the visitor that wishes to browse through the site, seeking inspiration from the wealth of information in the Learning Resource Finder, is well catered for too. Users are able to provide ratings and reviews on the resources that they have used. They can also email the location of particular resources to third parties who they think could also benefit from the resource. The system captures user activity on the site providing vital feedback to the V&A on the way the at the resources are being used by researchers.
